Gotügo, a proud sponsor of the Baltimore Humane Society’s 2009 DogFest, will donate its time and services helping the Humane Society raise proceeds that will provide shelter, care and protection for many animals in the Baltimore community. This year’s DogFest will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2009 in Shawan Downs, Hunt Valley, Maryland.
The 5K-9 Fun Run sponsored by LifeBridge Health begins at 7:30am – 9:00am. Dogs and their owners will run together to help raise funds for the Humane Society. At the end of the race there are a variety of prizes awarded for being the first shelter dog to complete the race, top three runners with dogs, most pledge money collected and more.
The DogFest gates open at 10:00am, the start of all festivities! There is a long list of activities, contests and exhibits for the whole family to attend and participate in such as the Paws on Parade Pledge Walk, the agility run course, the Baltimore Dog “Best in Fest” photo contest, demonstrations from the Maryland Jousting Society, horseback riding, a cat rescue pavilion, “Kitty” carnival games, raffles and many more. Poe from the Baltimore Ravens will also be at DogFest from 11:00am – 3:00pm along with the Ravens cheerleaders who will help judge the various dog contests.
There are high expectations for this year’s DogFest to surpass last year’s attendance of more than 4,000! This is one of many fundraising events gotügo will contribute to in the year 2009.
