We’re back in the community to help out with another incredible effort. On May 17, 2014, gotügo will be providing our services to the American Diabetes Association in accordance with this year’s Tour de Cure. It is the Chesapeake Bay’s third annual tour, and 750 riders will join forces in the fight to stop diabetes. The tour is meant to raise essential funds for diabetes research, advocacy, and education.
There are routes for cyclists of all experience levels, and the ADA encourages everyone to participate in the initiative. Each route has plenty of sights, which is going to make for an amazing riding experience.
A bit more about the tour:
“Tour de Cure is more than just a cycling event. It’s a life-changing event. Our day starts at the Talbot Community Center with smiling volunteers and check in! Red Riders bypass the line and head to the Red Rider tent for VIP check in and extra goodies! Make sure you pick up some fruit, bagels, McDonald’s fruit and yogurt parfait and more at the breakfast tent while DJ Danny pumps everyone up. Then off on the ride of your life, as you pass cheering faces, enjoying the beautiful water, farm lands, greenery and charming main streets that the Eastern Shore has to offer. Upon your return the smell lunch by Catering by Jamie will entice your pallet. Enjoy burgers, veggie (vegan) burgers, and plenty of sides as you listen to Mad Planet jamming out. Cool down with a cold beer from Wishing Well. Kick back and be amazed by Matt Gillman of Blind Bike Trails. Don’t forget to enjoy our Stop Diabetes Pavilion. Take advantage of a back massage after a long ride. Remember the day with a selfie at our photo booth, and don’t miss out on our awesome goodie bags. If you are one of our champions don’t for get to check out the champagne, extra food in the champion’s tent and enjoy our air-conditioned toilets fit for a champ. Lounge around in outdoor furniture from Bountiful Casual Elegance. Most importantly RELAX and CELEBRATE after all the hard work put into fundraising $300,000 for the 26 million Americans living with Diabetes.”
We’re excited for the event, and look forward to assisting the ADA in reaching their donation goals! For registration information, please visit the Tour de Cure webpage. See you on the road!
